Strategies to make "these 21st Century Learners" Learn!

Times are changing, or should I more approrpiately say times have changed.  The use of computers and technology is a part of everyday classroom life.  That is not going away, so instead we need to embrace it and go with it!  Our (teachers) goal is to teach students through engagement.  Students are naturally more engaged when we bring in elements of technology.  They love it and it provides them with stimuli and thus, causing engagement.  More importantly, students are likely to learn by doing and doing should involve the students new comfort zone of technology.  For many teachers, technology is not a comfortable tool or something they feel they can use effectively and look like a productive, organized teacher.

Teachers also need to remember that not every student learns alike.  There is no mold for a student, much to a teacher's dismay, and teachers need to understand that and change their teaching to meet the needs of students.  Students sitting in our classroom, are guiding us in the future that is truly unknown.  What we do know is that technology is going to drive the future!  Therefore, no matter what style of teaching, it needs to incorporate and be rich with technology usage. Today is the day, tomorrow is unknown, but teach to what students need!
